Hailee brings more than 15 years of construction experience to Better Space, with a background spanning project management, construction management and high-end joinery. She began her career in Christchurch and qualified as a Project Manager through the Christchurch earthquake rebuild before moving to the Bay of Plenty in 2018. After six years owning and running a high-end joinery design and manufacturing business, Hailee co-founded Better Space, bringing together her construction experience, commercial understanding and eye for detail. Today, she leads the pre-construction side of the business - working through the detail before a project reaches site, from budgets and estimating through to planning, procurement and project preparation. She has a knack for spotting the details that can make or break a project and making sure they're sorted early.
He brings a hands-on understanding of interiors, from the workshop floor through to project delivery.
Since entering the interiors industry in 2009, he's built experience across every stage of the fit-out journey. Starting out as a cabinetmaker crafting high-end residential joinery, he went on to oversee bespoke manufacturing for retail and commercial fit-outs across New Zealand and Australia before moving into construction project management. Today, as Co-Founder and Project Director of Better Space, he brings together skilled craftsmanship, thoughtful design and strong relationships to deliver unique commercial and residential interiors.
With over 20 years' experience owning and operating cabinetry and interiors businesses in the Bay of Plenty, Jonty brings a wealth of knowledge across project delivery, construction, interiors and business management.
As a founder of Better Space, Jonty takes a hands-on approach to project management, drawing on his extensive industry experience to coordinate every stage of a project and ensure it is delivered smoothly, efficiently and to a high standard. His practical knowledge and understanding of the entire process allows him to provide clients with confidence from concept through to completion.
How we work.
We take a hands-on approach from planning through to completion. Our role is to bring practical construction knowledge to the design process, identify challenges early and work collaboratively with the design team to find the right solutions. You deal directly with the people running your project - giving you clear communication, informed decisions and confidence that the details are being taken care of.
